The Forest of Gold is a loose metaphor for the heart and mind of a young man experiencing a journey through love, loss, fear, and freedom--in that order.

(In more practical terms, this is a collection of the songs I wrote between 2012 and 2017 that I miraculously shoehorned into a concept format.)

Because I'm stubborn, I endeavored to do as much of this album as possible by myself -- from recording in my bedroom, garage, and Kurt's basement, to countless hours spent at my computer editing, mixing, and mastering. I wanted to preserve the DIY ethos at all costs. I may not have come out on the other side with a Grammy-winning level of production, but the value of this experience has been priceless to me.
